When trying to stick to tasks and goals we’ve set for ourselves (say…working out, or maybe just working,) it is often hard to stay motivated. Sometimes it’s our frame of mind that can get in the way but other times it can be outside sources that drain our energy.
To help identify these issues, this article suggests writing all your distractions, the ones that make you want to give up and try again later, in a journal and start making some changes. By eliminating one or two things you can make a huge difference in how you approach your day.
It may seem silly to write things down, but this method has been proven over and over again. We often hear that writing a letter to someone-without sending it- can be a very effective tool in dealing with issues, so why not give this a try?
When you can SEE your distractions it can help you identify whether there is a common theme between any of them, connecting the dots and helping you find the root cause. This helps you get rid of the bigger issue instead of treating the symptoms.
