VALENTINES DAY IS THIS WEEK!!
Happy Monday Tub Connection Blog readers!! Can you believe it’s already here!? VALENTINES DAY IS THIS WEEK!! So excited. I love it better than Christmas! Every time I go to my local grocery store and I see that “seasonal” isle all stocked top to bottom with red white and pink paraphernalia I just want to push my cart off to the side and just go skipping up and down the isle looking at all the sweet, cute and funny things for sale. Of course my little pixie is usually in the cart so someone would probably call Child Services on me for pushing her randomly off to the side and then I’d be under investigation for my favorite holiday and that just wont do! I don’t know what you’re planning on doing for your sweet heart, and I don’t normally do this but I’m going to be writing my very own blog post today. No links, no one else’s information, just advice from me to you, you’re welcome my friend.
Figure out what they like. It may be shiny it may be a hug. Either way, don’t assume that you know what it is that they’re wanting from you. I know lots of people who get expensive gifts every year, and their date is spent in an over crowded “it” place where you can hardly eat your meal without bumping into someone, much less hold a conversation. These things are all nice, especially if you are into it, but 9/10 times what your partner is looking for is a little quality time. If you’re married to a manly man like Mr. Sthole, spilling your guts over a sweet love letter or poem, or card may be what you’re looking for, or what you think is expected on Valentines day, but to be honest it’s going to be a big let down. Grab him something manly like a hunting knife or a new fishing pole. If you’re looking for something a little more budget friendly try something a little more creative. Either way take your time! Put some thought into it. You’ll get the best results that way!
Plan ahead! No one likes going to a restaurant and having to wait for over an hour for a table. Call ahead, find out if your favorite place is taking reservations for the holiday. Even if they don’t usually a lot of places will on Valentines Day because it’s such a busy holiday. Have your night planned from start to finish, with a little wiggle room to be flexible. It’s always good to have a date planned out to make sure that the night doesn’t lag.
Plan a surprise. Your love may not like surprises, but a little one wont hurt. Send flowers to her office, have a pizza delivered to his. Either way, take a moment to make the work day a little more special while they’re waiting for your big date that night.
Tell us about your favorite Valentines Day and what made it special for you!

Good advice! Some people might want to go out and be seen, and others might just want quiet time at home in front of the TV without the kids. I’ve never been the “see and be seen” type, myself. I’d much rather have quality quiet time and dinner out on a less busy night. And actually, now, my favorite Valentine’s gift is time with my grandkids.
