I have heard it said that there is no new thing under the sun and what goes around comes around. I guess both of those sayings are true. In earlier times, there was a real concentration on beauty in everyday items.. Then it became more of a make it cheap, who cares what it looks like time. Now, we are are back to wanting beautiful things, that’s why I want to mention our glamorous Vintage Style Clawfoot Slipper Tub, Miller.
Miller Clawfoot Slipper Tub
Miller is an Acrylic Vintage Style Clawfoot Slipper Tub that is 30″ x 67″. This is a nice long tub. Any man or woman can really stretch out and relax in this tub. The tub is available with or without deck mount holes for a faucet.
There is an overflow hole that allows a nice 15 inches of soaking water. Be sure to check with your county code department. Sometimes there are some really funky codes that apply to bathtubs and bathroom plumbing.
Since the tub is light weight acrylic, instead of cast iron, the tub only weighs 75 pounds empty. The tub will accommodate 48 gallons of water, which makes the tub weigh 520 pounds when it is filled with water.
Faucet Holes
When there are faucet holes drilled into the acrylic rim of the tub, you will see three holes. The two holes on either end are where the stem of the on & off handles go and the one in the middle is for the actual faucet to be seated in. This tub is molded without holes, so when you place your order you will need to specify if you want faucet holes drilled. The staff at The Tub Connection does this at no charge for you.
Clawfeet
I think the clawfeet are as important as the tub. The feet look like they are holding up a great prize. Any vintage style clawfoot slipper tub will have some sort of clawfeet.
This one has Imperial Ball & Claw Feet. But some vintage style tubs have Lion’s Paw, Canon Ball or Eagle’s Claw Feet.
As you shop for your clawfoot tub, be sure to take a close look at the feet because there is a difference. Clawfeet are not interchangeable. The feet are made for a specific tub. The placement and curvature of the tub itself differs from tub to tub and that is why the feet are different for different tubs.
For this tub, Miller, the feet are available in Polished Chrome, White, Black, Brushed Nickel & Oil Rubbed Bronze.
