Honey is known to relieve cold symptoms. Combine with ginger tea or just hot water and it can soothe your soar throat.
Keep the air around you moist by placing a humidifier where you sleep and where you spend most of your time during the day. A humid environment is inhospitable to the virus. Change the water regularly and add some eucalyptus oil to the water.
Blow your nose as much as possible. Sniffling your nasal discharge back up into your sinuses will only prolong your infection and could potentially worsen it.
