When your concrete floor cracks, it can be overwhelming – after all, you don’t want to repair it wrong. And if you have guests coming over and you’re going to show them the basement, it can seem like a disaster. However, with these 5 simple steps, you won’t have to worry about it anymore. Next time you find cracks in your concrete, follow these to fix the problem correctly in no time.
1. Evaluate: you can check this with a straightedge or level across the crack. If it’s still level and not too big, continue with the repair.
2. Materials: you’ll need concrete crack sealer, concrete compound, a wire brush, and concrete cleaner
3. Measure: use a ruler to find the length and width of the area to be repaired.
4. Clean: get all that loose stone and dust out of the crack with the brush. Finish cleaning with the concrete cleaner.
5. Repair: fill it with concrete crack sealer and let it dry overnight. Continue until the floor is even again. Then, cover with plastic and let it cure for 3 days.
