I am so thankful the weekend is here, not only because I get to spend time with my family as a whole, but also because this particular weekend we are going to my nephew’s first birthday party and I get to see my little sister who I haven’t seen for too long. So what is the perfect dessert to make for a family dinner? Well I’ll tell you. I made this Banana Split Cake for Mr. Sthole and my girls last Sunday and it was so good. I could have eaten the whole pan myself…if I had wanted to explode, but still it was tempting, that’s how good it was. So here’s what you’ll need:
Indigence:
- 8oz cream cheese
- Large whipped Topping
- 1 can Strawberry Pie Filling
- 1 can crushed pinapple
- 3 or 4 fresh bananas- sliced
- 1 package of graham crackers
- Maraschino cherries
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- Crushed nuts- your choice
- Chocolate Sauce
Directions:
Mash graham crackers until crumbs. Melt 1/2 cup butter and mix with cracker crumbs. In a 9×13 pan cover bottom of pan with buttery cracker crumbs to make a crust and put in refrigerator while preparing the toppings.
In a separate bowl soften cream cheese and then add the 1 cup of sugar, mixing until fluffy. Add one cup of the whipped topping to the cream cheese mixture, folding in, not stirring, until well mixed. Spread on top of crust. Layer bananas, strawberry filling and *well* drained crushed pineapple. Top with remaining cool whip. Drizzle with chocolate sauce, nuts and cherries. Refrigerate overnight. And then dig in!
I’m telling you guys this is such a good recipe, I can’t stress this enough. It’s super easy to make and many of requested the recipe after seeing the pictures. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family did!
