Adults enjoy receiving gifts from children that have been hand made. Years later, when teens or young adults see that those gifts were kept and cherished for time, they feel honored and loved.
Spending time with children to do a simple craft is 3o minutes that cna influences them for life. Here are few very simple and inexpensive crafts to do with your children or grandchildren.
- Peanut Ornaments – just paint them white, paint a snowman face and hot glue a ring on the top to loop a piece of yarn through to hang the ornament with.
- Salt Dough Ornaments – make this simple dough from 1 cup table salt, 2 cups white flour and 1 cup lukewarm water, mix and knead, roll it out and use cookie cutters for shapes. Bake about 30 minutes on low temperature, set on cooling rack. Paint when cool.
- Craft Stick Tree Topper – glue craft sticks into the shape of a snowflake, paint it the color of your choice and attach to tree.
- Reindeer Puzzle Ornament – using old puzzle pieces, glue the pieces to create the head and antlers, affix googly eyes and a red nose.
- Paper Snowflake Ornament – don’t throw out the empty toilet paper or paper towel roll. Cut 8 thin strips of the circled ends, hot glue them to a center piece, such as an faceted stone. Attach a thin ribbon through one of the ends and hang.
