If you’re like me, you’re not a huge fan of carving pumpkins, but ARE a fan of decorating, what do you do? Well, you find a new creative way to decorate those pumpkins we love so much in the fall. A lot of these are great “fall” decorations as well as Halloween decorations so you can keep these no carve pumpkins up from September- November.
Drip Crayon Pumpkins
Melt a rainbow of crayons with a hairdryer for a funky and fun pumpkin. Beforehand, try painting the pumpkin in a bright color (or just plain white) to really pump up the whole effect.
Thumbtack Pumpkin
The only thing separating you and a luxurious, gilded pumpkin is a bunch of gold thumbtacks. Stick them in and voila!
Painted Pumpkins
Strategically tape or wrap rubber bands around your pumpkins wherever you’d like their bright orange to shine through. Then paint. Once dry, peel back the tape to reveal a fresh and fashionable color-blocked look.
Sequin Pumpkin
This sequin pumpkin might be the simplest squash on our list. Just glue on your favorite sequins to give your pumpkin a flashy, feminine DIY twist.
Chalkboard Pumpkin
Write a message on your pumpkin but avoid the trouble of etching or carving. Go for chalkboard paint instead!
Ombre Pumpkin
To create this great ombre effect, paint your pumpkin with your chosen colors (darkest on the bottom) and then blend the stripes into each other with a cotton ball.
Epsom Salt Pumpkin
Step one: paint with Mod Podge®. Step two: roll in Epsom salt. Step three: admire your seriously unique pumpkin. Once you have that mastered, try it with glitter.
Caterpillar Pumpkin
Got more pumpkins than you know what to do with? A little green paint, some felt spots, and a pair of googly-eyes can transform a pumpkin… into a caterpillar.
Stocking Pumpkins
Wrap your gourds in fishnet or lace stockings for a glamorous look. But don’t blame me if your sultry pumpkin starts singing the soundtrack to “Chicago”!
Decoupage Pumpkin
Select images and photocopy or print them onto white paper. Press the paper onto your pumpkin, painting over it with a thin layer of Mod Podge®. The result is a cool, vintage effect.
Glazed Pumpkins
For a subtle but sophisticated look, paint a golden glaze over your pumpkins, then group or stack the shiny spheres any way you please.
Ribbon Pumpkins
Hot-glue some decorative ribbons to your pumpkin for a simple, clean, yet fashion-forward look. The more ribbon, the more stripes, plaids, and zigzag patterns to create—so go wild!
