Here are the tools and supplies you will need to get the job done:
Supplies
- 4 furniture-leg mounting plates
- 4 wooden furniture feet
- waxed button thread
- about 3 yards of fabric, leather, or vinyl
- covered button kit
- about 1 yard of fabric for dust cover
- thread
Tools
- 10-inch upholstery needle
- pliers
- drill and drill bits
- sewing machine
- fabric scissors
- flathead screwdriver
- hammer
- phillip’s screwdriver drill bit
- iron and ironing board
- straight pins
- fabric chalk or erasable fabric marker
- tape measure
Follow these steps:
- Choose the fabric you want to use
- Replace casters with bun feet
- Attach the mounting plates.
- Remove and discard the dust cover.
- Install each new bun foot.
- Take apart the existing cover.
- Use the old pieces of fabric to act as a pattern for the new fabric.
- Put the sides of the cushion together.
- Attach the top of the cushion and sew the bottom on.
