Recycle your Holiday Decorations

December 29, 2012 By vdodson Leave a Comment

Before you toss out your wreaths or garland, poinsettia and even your tree check out these ways to put them to use for a few months more!  Go green and recycle your Christmas greenery.

  • Use the garland and poinsettia to make a great smelling potpourri which can double as a attractive vase filler and table centerpiece.
  • Re-plant your tree in your yard and ‘decorate’ it with outdoor goodies for the birds and other wildlife.
  • Cut the images from your Christmas cards and make them into gift tags or other decorations for next year.
  • Save the bows, gift bags and tissue paper and use them again.
  • Cut strands of old Christmas lights and ties for the garden or around the house.
