We all use them. Tires are everywhere, and they’re wearing out all the time. They’re expensive to replace, and take up a lot of space in your garbage can and in the landfills. Most tire replacement centers will take care of them for a small fee, but if you ask for them, they will put them in a plastic bag and put them in your trunk. Next time you have to grab a new set of tires, you now have a four your required materials for these great re-purpose projects!
Bike Storage
This one applies whether you’re sharing a house with a handful of bike-loving housemates, or your children have a habit of carelessly leaving their bikes strewn in the garden. Reuse your tires to introduce organized bike storage for your friends’ and family members’ beloved two-wheelers.
Tire Seasaw
Using only basic tools and readily available, not to mention affordable, building materials you can make your kids a fun seasaw. Best of all, there’s easily enough to go around, since one tire yields two seesaws!
Home Made Ottoman
Home Made Ottoman
If you wrap an old tire in rope you can make yourself an attractive and rustic looking ottoman. Since there are several styles and colors of rope you can personalize it any way you want!
American Classic
There’s nothing wrong with sticking with a classic. A sturdy rope and an old tire is perfect for the all american tire swing!
Tire Planters
The tire planter idea is hardly novel. Mount them on the wall, letting plants cascade down. Or stack and stagger them in your backyard for a larger and more elaborate scheme. You can also stick some legs on them (shown above) and create unique table planters sure to make an impact.
It doesn’t matter what you do with your old tires, get creative and give them new life!
