I prefer to use a stand alone (dedicated) vanity mirror as opposed to one that hangs above the sink in the bathroom. The main reason is that a stand alone vanity mirror is usually significantly larger than one located in the bathroom. If and when I do hang one up, I will be sure to also add an extension arm so that I can look at the back of my hair = hands free.
