Winter brings a totally new taste and smell to the pallet than summer and fall. The smell of cinnamon, pumpkin and peppermint fill the air and is inhaled when we drink our spiced chai and eat our peppermint bark.
Speaking of peppermint bark, the article below adds a new twist, oreo. The recipe calls for:
1 pound dark chocolate almond bark
1 pound white chocolate almond bark
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
10 Oreos, roughly chopped
1/2 cup crushed peppermints
Peppermint bark is a favorite around my house at Christmas time so we will definitely be trying this recipe.
For an amazing hot drink with a peppermint twist try the Hot Peppermint Rod. This drink is red and steaming hot, it even looks fun!
Just fill an Irish coffee mug with two parts vodka, two parts peppermint schnapps, two parts grenadine syrup (for color). Add hot water (to fill mug) and top with whip cream. Garnish with a peppermint rod and grenadine drizzled over the whipped cream. Ooh it’s yummy!
