Sometimes you just need a change. Life can get pretty boring when everything stays the same but how do you create a new look for your home, especially when funds are low? Here are a few ways to creatively, and economically, jazz up your space.
Bringing the outdoors inside instantly cheers up a room. If you haven’t had any in a while, it may be time to start. Head to your local market and grab a bright bouquet or a little potted plant. You could even grab a two-fer and plant herbs and place them in your kitchen.
Start moving things around. Maybe it’s time to swap your bedroom pillows with your living room throws. Re-arrange the furniture to spice things up. Buy a new vase that usually holds your flowers. One new, or re-arranged element can make a big difference. (I do quite a bit of this when my husband is deployed to pass the time.)
Head to your local thrift store and browse around for some fun and quirky home accessories. It will liven up your home and get your creative juices flowing. There are countless DIY projects you can find here and online to help you repurpose your thrift store finds.
Rethink your space. Turn a closet that is collecting junk into the crafting space you always wanted. Is there a window that could be turned into a reading nook by moving a table and chair from another part of the house? It may take some cleaning, organizing and patients but you can figure out how to use your space effectively. Look around and see what areas in your home could be suited for another purpose.
Do you listen to music in your home? If not, start there. Listening to music while cooking dinner or doing chores can make the time more enjoyable. If you’re already doing this try swapping out your playlist for something new. Different music can change the mood or feeling of the house.
