Raking and bagging leaves can be hard, time-consuming work, and it costs money to buy the bags and sometimes even to dispose of them when they’re full of leaves. Is there an easier solution? This post from bhg.com talks about “How to Deal with Fall Leaves“, and it claims to know a better technique! It’s really quite easy if you have a mulching mower.
All you have to do is set your mower to its highest height, and mow like you would mow your grass. The mower should mulch the leaves easily on the first or second pass, but if leaves start to pile up in front of the mower, just tilt the front of the mower up to catch the pile underneath. If your mower has a grass catcher, you can use it to catch the mulched leaves and use them as mulch in your garden.
