These glitter and snow pine cones are hot hot hot! Pottery Barn is selling them for a nice price, but you can have them for much less.
This link gives great step-by-step instructions on how to make these amazing decorations yourself. Below is a supply list and condensed instructions on making these glitz and glamour decorations.
Supplies needed:
- Pine cones, a variety of sizes is best
- Glitter – silver has been used on the pine cones in the photos
- Crystal color filler
- Spray Adhesive
- Jute Twine
- Hot glue gun & sticks
How to create the pine cones:
- place a piece of cardboard on the work surface
- set pine cones out at least 1 inch apart
- spray adhesive on a few of the pine cones at a time, give it a good coat
- sprinkle glitter over the pine cone, being sure to get it all over the pine cone
- let glittered pine cone dry for 5 minutes
- spray adhesive on pine cones again, a few at a time
- sprinkle a pinch full of the crystal color fill over the pine cones
- let pine cones dry completely
- gently shake each code to remove excess glitter and crystals
- apply hot glue to the top off the pine cone
- press jute or ribbon into hot glue in a loop in order to hang on tree
Start to finish will only take about 2 hours if you are doing several pine cones. Add as much glitter and crystals to create the look you want.
