It seems that pet parents, like “real” parents will do just about anything to keep their pets entertained and healthy.
As a cat owner, I can testify that cats are snuggley, indifferent, lazy and energetic. Cats are a mystery pet that will demand love and affection from you then walk away with their head and tail up just to let you know they don’t really care.
One thing for sure is that most cats love to climb and scratch. Most pet stores have some scratching posts and climbing posts, but I’ve seen nothing that compares to this tower.
Build some exercise and entertainment for your cat with this project. Here’s how:
- Design a shape & size for the shelves
- Cut the plywood accordingly
- Drill a hole that will allow the pole you have chosen to fit through
- Sand & Paint the shelves
- Design and cut the fabric you will adhere to the shelves & glue them to the shelves
- Mount the shelves onto the pole and install the pole (attached to floor and ceiling)
- Wrap rope around the entire pole
- Secure shelves into place with fasteners
Let Kitty go! The fun and exercise your favorite pet will have makes all the effort worth it! For more precise instructions view the article: IKEA Hackers: Cat Hack – cat tower & scratching post.
