If you have weak water flow in your faucet, it could be due to a build-up of sediment. Let’s address how to clean up this sediment and get you faucet back in working order.
Here’s a list of the tools you’ll need:
- Pliers
- Wrench
- Basin wrench
- Rag
- Towel
- Bucket
First, place a towel over the drain so we don’t lose any pieces. Next, remove the aerator from the faucet. If you can’t, put a rag over the aerator and use pliers to remove it. Clean and line up its pieces on a cloth so as not to lose them. Then, screw them back on and see if this improved your water pressure.
If it didn’t, turn off the shut-off valves below the sink. Turn on hot and cold water taps to drain any excess water left in the pipes. Then remove the water lines with a wrench. Open up the shut-off valves into a bucket for about 30 seconds to get rid of sediment build up. Finally, turn them off, replace the water lines, and turn the valves back on. This should solve your water pressure problem! If it doesn’t, you may need a plumber to investigate your pipes.
