Bathroom mirrors are constantly under attach. They are spit on, spayed on, and fingered day and night. From toothpaste to hair spray, your bathroom mirror barely shows your reflection due to the dirty surface from bathroom occupants.
To be sure you are seeing a true reflection, clean your mirror frequently. Here are some do’s and don’ts of mirror cleaning.
- Do keep the items necessary to clean with close at hand so it is convenient to clean any noticeable smudges when they occur.
- Do use natural and store bought products as each can do a good job cleaning.
- Don’t use abrasive cleaners or scratch pads, your mirror surface can scratch.
- Don’t soak the mirror with spray, the run-off can get to the edges of the mirror and penetrate the seal, causing dark spots along the edges.
Here is a list of necessary items:
Soft, lint free cloth
Old newspaper
White Vinegar
Foam Shaving Cream
- Dust off the mirror
- Wad up newspaper, dip into a solution of water & vinegar – rub in slow circles to clean
- Go over cleaned mirror with dry newspaper to prevent drip marks
To Defog a mirror:
- Spread a thin layer of shaving cream all over the mirror and wipe off with a dry paper towel or lint free rag. This will prevent mirror fogging for approximately 3 weeks.
Keeping your mirror clean will help with the overall appearance of the bathroom by reflecting the light and showing the real you.
