Many are aware of the challenge of finding the right living space to rent in New York City. Tina Ramchandani and her husband while looking in New York City for a place to call home eventually came across a listing for a place in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village. The place was on an upper floor and had not been renovated since the nineteen sixties when the building was built. The wood paneling and dark décor of the era did not deter the couple. With a little elbow grease and many updates the couple was able to create this very charming well lit living space to a form and functionality which they both enjoy.
Key Takeaways:
- After years of renting Tina and Ajay found a Manhattan apartment to transform into their own
- The apartment had parquet flooring and a dark color scheme that started off gloomy
- The couple used white walls to open the apartment with simple furnishings throughout
“Looking past wood paneling, wallpaper and dark colors, Ramchandani was instantly smitten.”
