There are not enough words to adequately describe the quality of the this Faux Copper Clawfoot Slipper Tub. The “Copper Marie” is a 61 inch acrylic tub that is light weight, only 75 pounds empty so it can be placed in any bathroom. I have spoken to people that wanted a beautiful slipper tub in their upstairs bathroom, but knew without doubt that a cast iron tub would be extremely difficult to haul up there. Don’t get me wrong, I have sold cast iron tubs that were destined to be in the upstairs bathroom. So, where there is a will there is a way!
What Is Faux?
Faux means artificial or imitation. One example I can give you that will perfectly describe faux to you – lunch at your favorite Chinese buffet will nearly always have faux crab meat for your enjoyment. Here’s the thing, it’s still fish, still meat, but not crab meat.
That describes the faux copper finish on our elegant clawfoot slipper tub. The copper finish is imitation, but it definitely looks like copper. Take a close look at my photos. You won’t find better faux copper on a tub anywhere.
Who Did It?
We sell acrylic, cast iron, stone, wood and real Mexican copper tubs. Our Mexican copper tubs are absolutely gorgeous, but they are costly. So we decided since our customers love the look, but don’t always love the price, we would help out by creating an affordable alternative.
We set about finding the best, most talented artisan we could find and we hired him. You may have seen a showing of his art in Chicago or elsewhere.
The Faux Copper Clawfoot Slipper Tubs are hand-painted. Please note that I said “tubs.” I want to be sure that you know that any of our tubs can have the faux copper finish applied to them for an small cost. If you look at our website and see a white tub that would look amazing with the faux copper finish just give us a call and we will make it happen for you.
It’s A Process
If you decide you want a faux copper clawfoot or pedestal tub, don’t wait to the last minute to call to order one. There are a few things I have learned when you are working with the artistic people in the world. You don’t rush them. Talk about perfectionists. Everything has to be perfect in their eye. As an “I don’t have a creative bone in my body” person, I can sometimes think a tub is finished before it is finished. I can assure you that not one faux copper finish tub leaves without the stamp of approval from the inhouse artist.
So, if you long for the look of copper in your home but don’t have a wad of cash to spend on one, you can lay out a much smaller amount and have a faux copper tub. Make it clawfoot or pedestal style they both look amazing.
