You’ve got about two week until Halloween so now is the time to start thinking about carving your pumpkins. You don’t want to start too early, or your pumpkins will rot before all hallows eve, but you want to get those decorations out there soon so you can enjoy them for as long as possible. Here is another interesting take on pumpkin carving.
For this pumpkin carving project, you’ll need the following supplies:
- Dremel tool (I used the 3000 series with a standard drill attachment)
- Adhesive stencils
- Marking pen
Step 1
Begin by applying the stencils. I used a piece of painters tape to help me stay on a straight line, but that’s optional.
Step 2
Next, use a marking pen to fill in the letters of the stencil.
Step 3
I used the standard drill attachment for the Dremel, and at the lowest speed began carefully carving the letters. I didn’t want to make a true jack-o- lantern by piercing all the way through the skin of the pumpkin, but it’s certainly possible to go this route with a Dremel tool!
It really is that easy. You can of course use this technique for any kind of pumpkin decorating or with any stencils, and you could even free-hand if you feel confident enough in your skills!
