There are few things more luxurious than a double slipper cast iron clawfoot tub. I realize that most of us will only purchase a tub or two in our lifetime. 
Writing those words almost makes me sad because I love them all. I get to see these beautiful tubs all the time and every time a new style comes in, it becomes my new favorite…for awhile.
I always go back to the double slipper style as my all time favorite. The ones that are roomy enough for two are the best. Even if I can’t get my hubby to jump into the tub with me, there is plenty of room for me to relax.
Customized Designer Tub
The white clawfoot tub in my featured photo is called “Buchanan” and the Zebra striped tub is called “Wild Buchanan”.
They are the same tub, but the wild one is a hand painted designer tub. You can see by the photos sprinkled throughout my post today, that the double slipper clawfoot tub can be customized in several ways.
You can even choose a single paint color that is your favorite and the inhouse staff will customize any tub we have for you.
There are some very popular custom painted double slipper clawfoot tubs that are also acrylic. Acrylic is a much lighter material so our acrylic double slipper tubs will be fine in any bathroom.

Faux Copper Finish
One of our most popular applications is the faux copper finish. That finish is very time consuming as it is different colors of paint that are applied by hand in a specific order in a precise way. A copper patina creates such an elegant appearance in a room.

There is something very glamorous about a double slipper tub. I like to place a wire book caddy across my tub and spend a lot of time in a hot, deep water, bubble bath reading or listening to my favorite tunes.
Double slipper clawfoot tubs come in a variety of sizes. We have them in cast iron and acrylic from 68 inches to 72 inches long. Now I want to point out that our 68 inch double slipper tub is not a two person tub. The tub looks amazing and it is, but if you want a tub for two, go for the bigger size.
To wind things up today, remember that any of our tubs can have these customized applications applied to them. It does take some time to create a designer tub, like the mirrored tile tub, so when you order, be realistic and give the artists time to do their thing.

I also want to remind you that every tub on our site ships free to any address in the continental United States. The tubs are palatalized and are bolted to the pallet with the claw feet boxed and inside the tub. The entire tub is shrink-wrapped and transported via freight truck. Once the tub arrives at your destination it is lowered to the curb by liftgate. If the tub is cast iron, you will want to have someone there to help you get it into the house. Acrylic tubs typically weight between 75 # and 125# so you may be able to move it yourself.
