These cute little houses make me want to throw all my girls’ toys out of the room and fill it with these. With a few simple supplies you can turn an ordinary card board box into a fun play house for your kids. Boys and girls alike love to play house and whether you have two of one or one of each you can personalize and style these to fit your child’s personality and interests (we’d have a Hello Kitty house for sure!).
Supplies:
- Large cardboard box
- Box knife
- Wall paper or wrapping paper
- Tape, hot glue or some kind of adhesive
Simply lay out your cardboard box and mark where you want the door and windows, careful to mark the spots you want to cut. Cut out the shapes with your box knife. Paint the door and trim. Use your double sided tape or glue to attach the wall paper or wrapping paper to the box. Use hot glue to add the shingles to the roof and any other decorative pieces to your house and you’re done. These can be easily put together for a special occasion or used every day. You can even go as far as drawing things on the inside walls to make it feel more “homey”. Get creative, let’s face it, we all know that kids prefer playing with the cardboard box most of the time anyway.
