One-time-use dusting cloths not only accumulate expense, they also are environmentally wasteful. Our solution? This DIY recipe for reusable dusting cloths. It’s simple and cheap to make these cloths, they’ll work as well as store-bought ones, and they’ll last you for a long time.
Here are the materials you’ll need for this project.
- Microfiber cloth
- Cutting mat
- Rotary Cutter
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Hook & Looper Fastener with adhesive back
The steps for making them are as follows:
- Cut 2 squares out of the microfiber, 8 x 8 inches.
- Put the duster handle onto one square.
- Attach hook and looper fastener onto the duster and square.
- Place the second square on top.
- Cut the fringe in the microfiber squares, about 1/2 inch for each one.
- Knot the fringe together.
To use them over and over by throwing them in the washer with 1 cup vinegar. Check out the video to see how this and reusable sweeper cloths are made.
