Martha Stewart is just the cats meow! She and her team are just so creative and come up with the funnest projects. I love that her projects are also getting easier and more cost efficient.
Bamboo place mats can be purchased online for about $2 a piece and can look lavish and upscale when dip dyed int Rite Dye. It’s simple to do and the longest part of the process is when your project has to dry overnight. Prepare a dye bath by filling a six-quart bin with four quarts of hot water, and add three to four teaspoons of liquid dye. Experiment with dyeing times — from a quick dip for a hint of color to a minute or more for a deeper hue. You can also add more dye to the water to darken the tone. Wearing rubber gloves or using tongs, fully submerge the mats in the liquid. Swish the mats around to ensure that the dye hits all the nooks and crannies; as with the paper vessels. Place them on a paper-towel-lined tray overnight to dry.
This project is great for your next girls night in, teen birthday party, classroom project, or would make a great house warming gift!
