I think the art of music has taken a sad turn. It used to be the sign of an uneducated, yet determined, person to not be able to read music, to play by ear. But these days it’s the normal happening. Nothing against it really, almost my entire worship team can’t read a lick of music. I just find it sad. I believe this is one of the reasons that the respect and reverence of music, and the instruments you play it on, has taken a dive.
That is why I was so excited to see this post. It shows you 15 beautiful rooms all decorated around the piano, my personal favorite. Now, I want to state that I am only one person. I only have one opinion and realize that everyone does not think like me. I will also say that I have played for many years and can still read music well enough to teach myself how to play a song, even if my lessons were limited to my yearly and then bi-monthly lessons with my grandmother. But I applaud anyone who can teach themselves how to play, even if it’s by ear, and use music to speak when words simply can’t.
Seeing a piano makes me think of Victorian times with the ladies and gentlemen sitting in the parlor listening to the young ladies play and sing. With that being said, check out this slide show by Apartment Therapy showing you how to decorate around such an attention-grabbing and massive piece of furniture.
