Does this ever happen to you, there is a vision dancing in the mind’s eye and it is trying to get out?
Some of us see an object, like a barn door and automatically think, “where can I put this?”
The photos in the link below are helpful in showing how barn doors can be used as decoration and function in any home. Some are natural wood, painted and slightly modified to fit a room, but each is striking in its own way.
Other great ideas for using unusual items for decorating are old Mason jars for hurricane candle holders or jars for pens, buttons or flowers. Metal milk cans can be used for flower stands, lamp tables or large cooking pots. Old digging utensils and tools can be hung on the walls for decoration, creating the look and feel of older days.
If you like to use the unusual to create a focal point in your home then you will enjoy Loft & Cottage: Headboard Alternatives.
This is all very cool looking and sounds great but in all honesty is the country style decorating still in or is it a more modern style now. You can’t find as many country dcor items in the stores these days so I thought it had gone out. I used to decorate with country styles and I simply got tired of the lace and ruffles.
