Composting at Home

One of the other things we mentioned in our recycling article was the idea of starting a compost heap at home. This is much less dirty than it sounds, in the sense that you probably won’t get very dirty.

Here is the source we used for that previous article. It includes a seven step process on how to get your compost heap started. Step one has you set everything on top of bare earth in a pile. However many people build themselves a wooden barrier so that the mess doesn’t get out of hand. It all depends how visually appealing you want your pile of decomposing matter to be.

There’s also a table that lists compostable materials and tips on how to properly add them to your pile.
