It has been said, “There is no new thing under the sun.” Maybe yes, maybe no! Take a look at these incredibly beautiful cast iron bathtubs and then decide for yourself, are they old, are they new or are they remakes of the best tubs of our past?
Have A Look For Yourself
Here is a 58 inch Swedish Soaking Tub. Swedish Tubs are known for deep water for soaking. This one provides 18 inches of water to relax in. The tub is made of cast iron and has a silky porcelain coating on the interior. The clawfeet are unique and won’t be seen on other tubs. You will notice there are no faucet holes on the rim of the tub. The tub rim is too straight up and down for faucet holes so there is only an overflow hole and drain hole. Included with the tub in this photo is a freestanding gooseneck faucet with a shower wand. There is a rise on one end of the tub which makes it a single slipper tub. Feel free to take a quick peak at the tub and faucet details. 58 inch Swedish Tub
Another fabulous freestanding tub is the double slipper tub. Here is one that is again, cast iron, the feet are even more unusual, they are called Lion’s Paw. On each end of the tub you see a very elevated rise of nearly six inches which creates an elegant looking tub. If a double slipper tub is long enough and wide enough two people can bathe at the same time. Imagine soaking in the perfect temperature of water filled with whimsical bubbles, just you and your favorite.
Beauty For The Eyes
With the slipper raised at both ends each person can lay back and relax with the head, neck, shoulders all supported. Bathing has been proven to be an extremely healthy activity and should be enjoyed on a regular basis. The tub is shown with a deckmounted British Telephone faucet with a porcelain handle hand shower. The faucet is elevated off of the tub rim by six inch risers which seem to enhance the overall elegance of the tub and faucet combination.
