A long, totally relaxing bath doesn’t just happen, it takes planning and a quality freestanding tub.
There is such a lovely feeling when you walk into a clean and well-organized bathroom. Maintaining a welcoming bathroom is important and something that helps is to get rid of the clutter on the vanity and throw away the empty or nearly empty bottles of conditioner around the tub.
Keep It Clean
Make sure your tub is clean and there is no soap scum hiding along the bottom or around the usual water line. There are some new cleansers which work really well so check out a few and find the one you like the best and use it weekly.
Before stepping into the water, light some candles and place them around the room. Turn on some of your favorite tunes and pour some bubble bath or essential oils into the water. Lavender oil is soothing and calming but any scent you like is perfect. Be sure to blend the scent of any oils and other additives with your soap as too many smells can be overwhelming.
Some Like It Hot
Check the water temperature as it is flowing into the tub to see if it is necessary to adjust the hot or cold water. If the water is too hot it will dry your skin and can elevate the blood pressure. The only time for a cool bath is to bring a temperature down so be sure to monitor the water temperature!
If you do tend to prefer a hot bath consider having a cool drink on hand, any chilled beverage is fine as long as you enjoy it.
Hopefully, you have a freestanding slipper tub which is elevated on at least one end so your head and back is supported as you recline. If not, they have some interesting bath pillows that may add to your comfort.
The last consideration is to be sure you have a big, fluffy bath towel waiting nearby. You can’t stay in the tub forever!
